History: Jodi Morinaka Slayton is the daughter of Marc Slayton, the hero known as Backlash. Jodi’s mother passed away when she was in her late teens, forcing Jodi to seek out the father she had never known (up until this time Marc was unaware of Jodi’s existence). Coming to live with Backlash and his partner/lover Taboo, Jodi quickly impressed her father by displaying innate combat skills and powers derived from her Kherubim heritage.

Adopting a costume identity, Jodi accompanied Backlash and Taboo on several adventures, proving her courage and ability time and again. Upbeat and playful, Jodi operated as Crimson for several years before her lover and many of her friends on the WildCore team were killed by aliens.

After retiring for a time, Jodi found herself slipping back into the role of hero. Adopting the guise of Jet, Jodi once again started making the streets safe for the innocent. When her father briefly retired from being a costumed adventurer, Jodi took over the Backlash identity in order to keep the tradition alive.
